As a member of this community, your credit union is duty bound to provide financial education to the community. We hold two credit report check-ups events each year and also offer this service free of charge to the community on an on-demand basis. At these credit report check-ups, we pull a credit report and review it during a face to face meeting. We provide education on the items that are currently listed on the credit report and provide advice on how to build or retain a strong credit score.
Credit reports are not only used for loan approval purposes, they are also used to determine what an individual will pay for their homeowners and car insurance. Keeping an eye on what items are included on your credit report also helps prevent identity theft. Let your credit union help you stay knowledgeable about your credit report.
